Girl 1: In the art gallery
Girl 2: You get to have fun and dress up as
Girl 1: if you were in the olden days
Man wearing a dress: Just like this, am I in focus?
Girl 2: Yes.
In the How Art Is Made gallery:
Girl 1: How is art made?
Girl 2: In the art gallery it is not just pictures, you can get involved and get creative, you can sit down and listen to it [the videos] and watch how it [the art] is made.
Girl 2: This is Michael Rothenstein who was one of the leading British artists who done a lot of printmaking in the 20th century.
In the In Touch gallery:
Girl 1: These are sculptures made by Henry Whitedale and they are set at a dinner table eating and you can also listen to their conversations through the earphones.
In the Round Room:
Girl 1: with the audio guides you get to listen to a man taking about each painting displayed here.
In the Pre-Raphaelite gallery:
Girl 2: This is for kids[an interactive display], you don’t just get to look at the pictures you get to learn facts about them and it tells you about the painting. You get to look at the build out of the picture, you get to look at the materials, feel what they felt like and lift up the things and find out more information about the characters in the picture.
Talking to member of the public:
Girl 1: hi what do you like about the art gallery
Man: I think it is fantastic actually, I think it is something that is inspirational and educational to the young people of today.
Girl 1: Do you come here often?
Man: more or less everyday.
Girl 1: what do you like about it, like the pictures or?
Man: I like the atmosphere, I like the pictures, I like the sculptures, I like the monuments, its all good.
Girl 1: thanks.
In the art gallery:
Girl 2: this is a picture by Modigliani, kids can get involved and create a jigsaw based on the picture.
Girl 2: these are sculptures produced by Anna-Maria Pacheco, it’s called Man and His Sheep and its based on feelings and individuals in the group.
In the Buddha gallery, the Mandala puzzle:
Girl 2: you can lift up the pieces and find out the names of the Buddha’s and their symbols.
In the Jewellery Gallery:
Girl 1: this is to do with old-fashioned jewellery to do with arms and the hands and the feet, you get to look at information to do with the human hair bracelet etc.
In the gift shop:
Girl 2: this is the souvenir shop in the gallery you can buy interesting stuff about the facts and the art book and that and also buy souvenir’s to take home and arts and crafts.
